Biography For David Kehrli
As a young boy I began experimenting in my father’s photo darkroom learning special effects on photo papers. I eventually purchased a used 35 mm Leica camera to help earn money to pay for my college education by taking pictures of school dances and stock car races. Some of my college classes included chemistry of the photographic process, and characteristics of light. Upon graduation from college in San Francisco I went into the U.S. Air Force, taking my camera with me to all the places I traveled. After five years in the service I spent twenty-seven years working for the Federal government in Washington, D. C. Later I moved to Florida and became a Financial Advisor for T. Rowe Price. Before moving to Colorado I took several watercolor classes in California. I was juried into two fine art galleries in both watercolor painting and in photography, and I have sold many pieces in both media. While in Fort Collins I submitted my art pieces to two different juried national shows and was accepted into each show. I have earned numerous awards and ribbons, including Best of Show and First Place, in local art shows. I have since moved to Montrose, Colorado, in 2013, and have sold several watercolor paintings and photographs by word of mouth. I currently split my time between Colorado and Arizona.
